Cartography - Data Journalism - Design
I'm a cartographer and data journalist based in Burlington, VT. I design and develop interactive graphics, maps, and visual stories that are accessible, engaging, and ethically sound. I've previously worked as a graphics editor at The New York Times and NPR.
I have a M.S. in cartography from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where my research centered on user-centered design, critical cartography, and Guatemala-US migration. I previously received a B.A. in English & American Literature from Middlebury College.
I'm currently freelancing, and especially interested in work on extractive industries, environmental movements, and migration. You can reach me at nunderwood6@gmail.com.
